Ocean Beach Pier

At the end of Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach there is a long seawall that holds back the Pacific Ocean during storms. It is one of my favorite places to sit and watch the sunset, or paint it for that matter. The feeling of freedom and the California beach lifestyle is conjured up as if by magic as the Sun sinks lower and lower into the sky. Vibrant color and loose paint application was used to embody this work.
